It’s official!
Express Route 80X will finally start regular service Monday, Dec. 3, with stops at Target and Wal-Mart (off Thomasville Road), Village Square and Premier Health & Fitness on its way to the plaza downtown.
The stop at Target will be near the exit (see attached photo) — not near the entrance to the store, which is where it was located during Commuter Choices Week. The stop at Wal-Mart will be in the same location as it was – near the gas station entrance closer to Thomasville Road. Coming home from downtown, you’ll catch 80X at the stop across the street from the plaza.
This express bus will run every half hour during the morning and afternoon rush hours, and once an hour during the middle of the day.
Regular fare is $1.25 for adults or 60 cents for seniors (people 60+). You must pay with exact change. However, if you have a PARC card, you may purchase 10 rides for $12.50 at the plaza and have them added to your card.
At this point, StarMetro is not planning to issue any more PARC cards (although this is being discussed; stay tuned). Instead, StarMetro is hoping to introduce a new PoGo (or Pay-as-you-Go) card at some time in the future.
See you on StarMetro!

This is a great service! No gas, no traffic hassles; just more neighbors to get to know. I get on the first bus Southbound from Village Square at about 6:45 AM and am in to work at Southwood by 7:30 AM. There are 3 busses I could catch going home after 5 PM but they run all day every half hour, so there is a lot of flexibility. This is a no brainer! No fuss, no muss, just relax and take the bus!

I was so glad to see the service up to Bradfordville Target that I put up a website, http://www.ridethe80x.com/. Do we know anymore about Starmetro selling PARC or PoGo cards? I ride 3x per week so a weekly or monthly card is not cost effective. If okay, I will put a link to your PARC site on mine.
